We are looking for a Principal Planning Officer to join the Development Management team. This is a key role where you will help shape and influence the Borough’s future growth, working on some of the most high-profile and complex residential and commercial developments.

Location: Archway Road, Huyton, Liverpool, Merseyside, L36 9YU

Pay Rate: £35.00 per hour

Working Pattern: Hybrid

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Principal Planning Officer to join the Development Management team, playing a key role in shaping Knowsley’s future growth. You will manage high-profile residential and commercial applications while providing expert advice to Members and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex major planning applications
  • Prepare reports and present at Planning Committee
  • Lead negotiations with developers, including Section 106 agreements
  • Liaise with stakeholders and partner agencies
  • Support planning appeals and enforcement activity

About You:

  • Strong experience in Development Management
  • Excellent knowledge of planning legislation and policy
