This is a rewarding opportunity to work with children and young people aged 10–17 who have offended or are at risk of entering the criminal justice system. You'll play a key role in delivering targeted interventions, helping young people make positive choices and reduce the risk of offending and anti-social behaviour.
As a Prevention Worker, you will:
- Undertake assessments of young people referred to the Youth Justice Prevention Team.
- Develop and deliver tailored intervention plans to address offending and anti-social behaviour.
- Build positive, supportive relationships with young people and their families.
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes.
- Participate in occasional evening and weekend work as required.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Experience working with vulnerable, disaffected or at-risk children and young people.
- Knowledge of the Youth Justice or Criminal Justice system.
- Understanding of restorative justice and restorative approaches.
- Experience completing assessments and delivering targeted intervention plans.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building and organisational skills.
- The ability to manage a varied caseload and work effectively within a multi-agency environment.
Essential Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence.
- Access to a suitably insured vehicle.
- Willingness to undertake occasional evening and weekend work.
