We are seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join our busy workshop, maintaining a diverse fleet that includes HGVs, specialist vehicles, light vehicles, and electric/hybrid plant. This role ensures both the Council and external customers have safe, reliable, and fully operational vehicles.

- 37 hours per week
- £22.00 per hour umbrella
- 3 month contract+
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain, service, inspect, repair, and test vehicles, plant, and ancillary equipment
- Prepare and present vehicles for MOT inspections and carry out DVSA safety checks
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults
- Undertake welding, fabrication, bodywork repairs, and attend breakdowns
- Fit and remove ancillary equipment, accessories, and livery
- Maintain accurate records and support workshop productivity
- Promote a “Right First Time” culture and support apprentices
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an HGV Technician, ideally with electric/alternative-fuel vehicles
- Knowledge of MOT, DVSA, and health & safety compliance
- Strong attention to detail and teamwork skills
