Refuse Driver (Class 2) – Newport
Location: Docks Way, Newport, NP20 2NS
Start Date: 23/02
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday–Friday
Contract: 9 month + ongoing
Pay: £13.26 per hour PAYE / £17.10 Umbrella
We’re recruiting for an experienced Class 2 Refuse Driver to join the waste and recycling team in Newport. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys outdoor work, steady hours, and being part of a reliable local authority team.
Key Responsibilities- Driving a Class 2 refuse vehicle on scheduled collection routes
- Supporting the crew with waste and recycling collections when required
- Ensuring safe, compliant driving at all times
- Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting any issues
- Representing the service professionally within the community
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence
- CPC and Digi Card
- Previous refuse or local authority experience is beneficial but not essential
- Good reliability and a positive, team‑focused attitude
- Monday–Friday daytime hours
- Weekly pay
- Ongoing work with a well‑established local authority
