We’re looking for a First Experiences Music Tutor to deliver engaging classroom and large-group music lessons, giving pupils their first experience of instrumental music as part of the National Music Service for Wales. You’ll work closely with schools, pupils, parents and colleagues to inspire musical engagement, support pupil wellbeing, and encourage participation in music service activities.

  • Location: Whittle Drive, Newport, NP20 6NS
  • Contract: 8 weeks
  • Hours: 26 per week (term-time only)
  • Rate: £17.00 per hour (Umbrella)

Key requirements:

  • Musical qualification to Grade 8 (or equivalent)
  • Degree or equivalent qualification
  • Strong experience teaching large groups or classroom-based music
  • Solid performance background and excellent communication skills

Please note: This role involves substantial contact with children and requires a DBS check.
