We are looking for an experienced Emergency Management Officer to join a local authority team in Cardiff. This is a key role supporting the development, implementation and review of emergency planning, resilience and business continuity arrangements. You will play an important part in helping to safeguard residents, communities and critical services during periods of disruption.

Location: Cardiff (County Hall)

Rate: £23.00 per hour

Contract: 12 Months+

Start Date: ASAP

Hours: 37 per week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain emergency plans, policies and procedures.
  • Support compliance with the Civil Contingencies Act and related legislation.
  • Coordinate with emergency services, partner agencies and internal departments.
  • Deliver training exercises and emergency preparedness activities.
  • Participate in the emergency on-call rota and incident response arrangements.
  • Support business continuity planning and resilience initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Experience in emergency planning, resilience or business continuity.
  • Knowledge of the Civil Contingencies Act and emergency response procedures.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings, weekends and on-call duties.
