We are looking for an experienced and motivated Transport Manager to join our Municipal & Environmental Services team in Lambeth. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering a safe, compliant, and reliable fleet operation that supports essential frontline services within the local community. This position suits a Transport Manager seeking a long term position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure full compliance with Operator Licence requirements and UK road transport legislation
  • Manage fleet maintenance schedules in line with manufacturer recommendations and compliance standards
  • Oversee daily vehicle availability to support operational service delivery
  • Monitor and manage third-party maintenance and service providers
  • Manage vehicle defects, incidents, breakdowns, and ensure prompt resolution and reporting
  • Maintain accurate fleet and compliance records, including driver qualifications and asset documentation
  • Support operational teams by ensuring fleet reliability and efficiency
  • Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • National Transport Manager CPC qualification
  • Strong understanding of UK and EU road transport legislation
  • Previous experience managing fleets within a complex operational environment
  • Excellent organisational and compliance management skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • The ability to manage operational priorities in a fast-paced environment
