A Diagnostic Technician / Vehicle Technician / Mechanic role with a Level 3 qualification, or Level 2 Technician / Mechanic with 3 years experience, for a growing independent vehicle service and repair business, working on a wide range of cars and light commercial vehicles.

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and hold a full UK driving licence.

Location: Cheltenham

Pay / salary: Up to Β£45,000 basic salary, depending on experience and skill level

Job type: Permanent / full-time role

Shift and schedule: Monday to Friday working hours, with overtime available

Company: You would be joining Go Vehicle Services, an established independent automotive service and repair business with a strong local reputation. The company works on a wide range of vehicles and offers a professional, supportive workshop environment where technicians can develop their skills, take ownership of their work and build a long-term career within a growing business.

Skills and experience: Minimum Level 3 qualification, or equivalent, in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair. Previous experience as a Diagnostic Technician or Mechanic is ideal, although brand-qualified Technicians will also be considered.

Job responsibilities for the Diagnostic Technician role:

  • Carry out complex diagnostic, warranty, and repair work in line with manufacturer standards.
  • Use diagnostic tools and software to identify, investigate, and resolve hard-to-find vehicle faults.
  • Complete EV work, where qualified, and carry out hydraulic repairs safely and efficiently.
  • Support accurate digital write-ups, job card completion, and clear recording of technical findings and parts requirements.
  • Assist Apprentice Technicians with development where required, supporting a high-performing workshop team.
  • Maintain high standards of safety, quality, first-time fix performance, and customer satisfaction.
