Vehicle Technician / Mechanic role with a Level 3 qualification, or Level 2 Technician / Mechanic with 3 years’ experience, for one of the UK’s leading automotive retail groups, working on a wide range of vehicles. Great salary, benefits, overtime and bonus opportunities.

Pay / salary: Up to £35,000 basic per annum plus productivity bonus and overtime, OTE £50,000+
Job type: Permanent / full-time role
Shift and schedule: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, standard day shifts plus Saturday rota)

Company: Our client is a well-established independent automotive specialist based in Newbury, Berkshire. Operating for over 40 years, they have built a strong reputation for specialist vehicle servicing, diagnostics and repairs.
Skills and experience:
- Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (NVQ/City & Guilds), or equivalent; alternatively, Level 2 Technician/Mechanic qualification with at least 3 years’ workshop experience
- Own a well-stocked toolbox suitable for workshop duties
- Experience carrying out servicing, vehicle health checks, fault diagnosis, and general mechanical/electrical repairs
Job Responsibilities for the Vehicle Technician role:
- Carry out routine vehicle servicing, repairs, and visual health checks in line with manufacturer guidelines and customer requests.
- Perform diagnostics across mechanical, braking, electrical, and powertrain systems using modern workshop tools and equipment.
- Complete warranty repairs to manufacturer specifications and ensure accurate job card documentation.
- Conduct road tests to ensure all reported faults are fully resolved prior to vehicle handover.
- Collaborate closely with Service Advisors and workshop management to maintain safe working practices and high workshop efficiency.
