Roadside Technician (Field based) providing roadside assistance for a national breakdown company with over 15 million members. Great salary, benefits, overtime and bonus opportunities.

Location: Bromley

Pay / salary: Base: £41,600 (inclusive of LWA) OTE: Up to £66,000

Job type: Permanent / Full time role

Shift and schedule for the Roadside Technician role:

  • 40 hours per week between 6am and 12pm, Monday to Sunday. Shifts known 4 months in advance.
  • Flexi overtime at x1.5 and / or optional fixed overtime at £30 per hour.
  • All hours start and stop from home, as soon as you start the van.

Job Responsibilities for the Roadside Technician role:

  • Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults quickly and accurately.
  • Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs at the roadside, including battery replacements, wheel changes, and minor engine fixes.
  • Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
  • Provide temporary solutions when full repair isn't possible, ensuring member mobility.
  • Advise members clearly on next steps, including recovery if needed.
  • Work safely and efficiently in varied environments and conditions.

What you'll need to be considered for the Roadside Technician role:

  • Must have a minimum of Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair or ideally Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent).
  • Must have a minimum 2-year post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles, either in a workshop or mobile vehicle type role.
  • A customer-focused approach.
  • Must have a full UK driving licence - max 6 points, no bans.
