We are looking for a skilled HGV Technician to join our clients workshop in Heathrow, specialising in fleet vehicles, including Transits, Sprinters, and a variety of other LCVs and HGVs. This is a great opportunity to work with a diverse range of vehicles, offering both challenging and rewarding experiences in a dynamic environment.
This role operates on a split shift rotation, alternating weekly between:
- 06:00 - 14:30 (30-minute unpaid lunch)
- 14:00 - 22:30
The role is fully workshop-based, and you are not expected to do any call outs. Call-out work is available for those who want it, but there is already full cover in place, meaning there is no obligation and the role offers excellent earning potential through:
- Monthly bonus available
- Overtime paid at 1.5x
- Additional weekend hours paid at 1.5x
- Shift allowance of £40 per day

HGV Technician Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair vehicle problems, including engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical issues
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tyre rotations, and brake inspections
- Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve complex issues
- Carry out repairs including clutches, brakes, suspension, wheel alignments and more
- Maintain efficient workflow while ensuring high-quality repair standards
- Keep accurate records of all work performed and parts used
- Communicate with customers about vehicle issues and repair recommendations
- Maintain a clean and organised work area
- Keep up to date with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques
HGV Technician Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 equivalent or higher
- At least 1 year of experience as a vehicle technician
- Experience working with HGVs preferred (MAN experience desirable and paid at a higher rate)
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and software
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Valid drivers licence
