We are recruiting for a dynamic and proactive General Sales Manager to join our clients thriving main dealership in Horsham. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a well-established dealer group known for delivering exceptional customer service, strong brand representation, and consistent business growth. We would consider experienced Sales/Business/Transaction Managers or Sales Controllers seeking progression.

As General Sales Manager, you will lead a motivated sales team and play a key role in shaping the performance and success of the dealerships new and used vehicle operations. Youll drive standards, maximise sales opportunities, and create a positive, customer-focused environment where both the team and the business can excel. General Sales Manager Role:

  • Lead and oversee a busy sales department including Sales Executives, the Business Manager, and administrative team members reporting directly to the General Manager
  • Manage the team to deliver a seamless sales process while maintaining close customer engagement throughout the vehicle purchase journey
  • Ensure adherence to dealership and manufacturer standards, including compliance with FCA and financial regulations
  • Set and exceed targets for unit sales, finance penetration, and additional aftermarket products
  • Coach, develop, and mentor the sales team, using structured training and performance management to boost individual and team effectiveness

General Sales Manager Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years experience as a Sales/Business/Transaction Manager within a successful car dealership environment
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Self-motivated, driven, and passionate about leadership and team success in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
