Are you an experienced Master Technician looking for a position where your technical expertise is recognised, rewarded and utilised? We are recruiting for a Master Technician to join a busy main dealership workshop in Solihull. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled technician who wants to take ownership of complex diagnostic work, support the wider workshop team and maximise their earning potential.

Master Technician – Role

  • Taking the lead on advanced diagnostics and complex fault finding
  • Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and technical vehicle faults
  • Carrying out high-level repairs to manufacturer standards
  • Working closely with the Workshop Controller to maximise workshop efficiency and productivity
  • Providing technical support and guidance to other Vehicle Technicians
  • Supporting the development and mentoring of less experienced technicians
  • Carrying out quality-control checks and maintaining high workshop standards
  • Completing electronic vehicle health checks and identifying additional work
  • Ensuring job cards, diagnostic findings and repair information are recorded accurately
  • Maintaining consistently high standards of workmanship

Master Technician – Requirements

  • Master Technician status or equivalent high-level technical accreditation
  • NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent
  • Proven experience carrying out advanced diagnostics and complex vehicle repairs
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
  • Previous main dealership or high-volume workshop experience
  • MOT Tester licence preferred but not essential
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and support to other technicians
  • Strong leadership or mentoring skills
  • Methodical approach to fault finding
  • Excellent attention to detail and pride in your work
  • Full UK driving licence
