HGV Technician role for a skilled and flexible technician to join a purpose-built Bicester site, working on a varied range of heavy commercial vehicles for a family-owned commercial vehicle group. Great salary, overtime, bonus opportunities, training and long-term career development available. Must have the right to work in the UK and a full UK driving licence. HGV, LGV or PCV licence would be advantageous.

Location: Bicester

Pay / salary: up to £44,000 basic per annum, OTE £53,000+ with overtime and bonus opportunities

Job type: Permanent / full-time role

Shift and schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with overtime and rota opportunities

Skills and experience:

  • Relevant HGV, heavy vehicle or commercial vehicle maintenance qualification, or proven workshop experience in a similar role
  • Experience with service, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on heavy commercial vehicles
  • Ability to work efficiently as part of a busy workshop team
  • Own a well-stocked toolbox suitable for HGV workshop duties
  • HGV, LGV or PCV licence would be advantageous

Job Responsibilities for the HGV Technician role:

  • Carrying out routine servicing, inspections and maintenance on heavy commercial vehicles
  • Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and technical faults using modern diagnostic equipment
  • Completing repairs to manufacturer standards across HGV and commercial vehicle systems
  • Supporting breakdown, roadside or rota requirements where applicable and maintaining high levels of customer service
