About the Role
We are looking for a Superflex Roadside Patrol Mechanic to join a fast-paced, customer-focused roadside assistance team in the Chelmsford area. This role is built for mechanics who value variety, flexibility, and independence. You will be supporting motorists when they need it most, delivering professional roadside diagnostics and repairs across a wide range of scenarios.
Salary: £48,720 basic salary OTE up to £55,000 with overtime and bonuses
Working Pattern:
- Average 40 hours per week across the year
- Rota issued 7 days in advance, with core hours confirmed 3 days prior
- Shifts between 06:00 and 02:00, including early starts, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
- No two days are the same, making this role ideal for mechanics who thrive outside the traditional 9-5.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Attending roadside breakdowns and diagnosing vehicle faults
- Carrying out repairs such as battery replacements, tyre changes, and minor mechanical fixes
- Using diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve faults where possible
- Delivering a calm, professional, and customer-focused service at all times
- Managing your own workload, tools, vehicle stock, and digital job reports
- Making safe, informed decisions to get motorists back on the road quickly
What We’re Looking For
- Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience, including diagnostics and electrical work
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Flexibility to work variable shifts at short notice
- Willingness to travel and stay overnight if required
