Job Title: Field Service Engineer
Location: Ipswich
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 (DOE) + Overtime at 1.5x + Bonus Scheme
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm (40 hours per week, 30-min unpaid lunch)
Travel: All travel time paid

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established material handling company seeking a Field-Based Forklift Engineer to join their growing team in the Ipswich area. You\’ll work from home and travel to customer sites to carry out servicing, maintenance, and repair of various forklift trucks and material handling equipment.

You\’ll be supported by a dedicated Service Controller who will manage your daily workload through a bespoke electronic job system. With uncapped overtime paid at 1.5x and a performance-based bonus scheme, this is a fantastic opportunity for skilled engineers seeking stability, development, and great earning potential.

Field Service Engineer Key Responsibilities

– Carry out routine servicing, repairs, and diagnostics on a range of forklifts and material handling equipment
– Ensure all repairs are completed to a high standard in line with manufacturer guidelines
– Accurately record all job details and activities on the company’s digital job management system
– Maintain a strong focus on health and safety and best workshop practices
– Deliver excellent customer service and maintain strong working relationships on site

Field Service Engineer Requirements

– Full UK driving licence (essential)
– Minimum 3 years\’ experience within the material handling or related mechanical/electrical industries
– City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering
– Strong diagnostic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical fault-finding skills
– Solid understanding of Health & Safety requirements
– GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above in Maths and English
– Excellent communication and organisational skills
– Committed to ongoing professional development
