We are working with a specialist engineering consultancy seeking an experienced Hardware Engineer (Electronics) to join a collaborative team of hardware and software engineers. This is a hands-on design role, where you will take ownership of electronic hardware development from initial concept through to prototype, testing, and production release. You'll also work closely with customers, helping to define requirements, solve technical challenges, and support delivery across a variety of innovative engineering projects.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design, develop, prototype, and test electronic hardware solutions
- Produce schematic designs and multi-layer PCB layouts (typically 2–8 layers, mixed-signal)
- Work across analogue, digital, and power electronics designs
- Support embedded systems development involving MCUs, MPUs, and related technologies
- Build, test, and debug hardware using lab equipment and practical engineering methods
- Apply best practice design principles including DFM, DFT, and EMC considerations
- Support product introduction from concept through to manufacture
- Work directly with customers to provide technical input and project updates
- Produce clear technical documentation and design reports
