CAM Engineer job offers the opportunity to work within a specialist PCB manufacturing environment, preparing and optimising PCB design data for production while ensuring the highest standards of quality and manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Import, review and validate customer PCB design data including Gerber, ODB++ and Excellon files.
  • Carry out Design for Manufacture (DFM) analysis in line with IPC standards and internal manufacturing capabilities.
  • Prepare, edit and optimise PCB design data using Genesis 2000 or In CAM Pro while maintaining design intent.
  • Raise and manage engineering queries with customers where clarification or design changes are required.
  • Configure PCB panelisation and array layouts to maximise manufacturing efficiency and material utilisation.
  • Generate manufacturing data including LDI layers, NC drill and routing programs, solder mask and legend files.
  • Produce fabrication drawings, route cards and manufacturing documentation.
  • Generate AOI and Bare Board Test programs to support quality assurance.
  • Provide technical support to production through data amendments, tooling corrections and manufacturing queries.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a PCB CAM Engineering environment.
  • Strong understanding of PCB manufacturing processes.
  • Experience working with Gerber, ODB++ and Excellon data.
  • Proven experience carrying out DFM analysis.
  • Experience using Genesis 2000 or In CAM Pro.
  • Knowledge of Polar Speedstack for impedance calculations would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure.
