Chief RF Engineer – Antenna Engineering
Leominster, Herefordshire | £80,000–£85,000
We’re recruiting a Chief RF Engineer for a specialist business developing antenna and RF technology for demanding defence and communications applications.
This is a technical leadership role. You’ll lead a team of six, set the direction for antenna engineering and strengthen the processes that support design, testing and product development. You’ll review and challenge technical work, guide complex decisions and work closely with customers and senior leaders.
What you’ll do
- Lead and mentor antenna engineers and a test and measurement engineer.
- Provide technical oversight of antenna design, EM simulation, measurement and verification.
- Improve engineering processes as the business expands its product range.
- Lead technical reviews and contribute to future RF and antenna strategy.
What you’ll bring
- Strong antenna engineering experience and the ability to lead and develop a team.
- Experience with CST, HFSS or FEKO, plus antenna measurements including radiation patterns and S-parameters.
- Familiarity with anechoic chamber testing.
- Sound technical judgement and the confidence to challenge designs and communicate with stakeholders.
- Ability to obtain SC clearance.
Experience in defence or another demanding RF environment would be useful. We’re particularly interested in people who enjoy building capable teams and improving how engineering work gets done.
