New job role in Gloucester. Due to company growth, a fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our team. We are seeking CNC Setter/Operators in Gloucester with experience in using CNC turning machines and routers - preferably with knowledge of Haas/Fanuc controls. You will be working as part of a wider team to undertake a variety of CNC duties and produce a wide range of precision components for many industries including automotive (F1), military & transport. The candidate will expect to be working within a fast-paced environment to satisfy customer expectations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set and operate Haas/Fanuc-controlled CNC machines
  • Working from Technical Drawings
  • Installing the correct programmes into the machine
  • Prepare and load materials and components
  • Working to specific tolerances ensuring these are accurate for each operation
  • Inspect and measure finished components, recording results using in-process inspection sheets
  • Fulfil daily responsibilities using our ERP system (IFS)
  • Reporting any issues to their Supervisor/Manager
  • Take a proactive approach to managing their own and others' Health & Safety

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING

  • You must have experience of setting and operating CNC machines – lathes
  • Completed relevant apprenticeship in engineering or a minimum of Level 3 NVQ or City & Guilds in the relevant field is desirable
  • Experience producing precision turned components from a variety of materials, mainly composite, aluminium & plastics
  • Experience in the use of the bar feeder
  • Confident, independent operation of Fanuc/Haas controlled machines
  • Ability to complete ongoing quality documentation, maintaining communication with supervisors and quality operatives

WORKING HOURS

  • Double Days (1-week rotations)
  • Early’s - Mon-Thurs: 6am – 2pm & Fridays: 6am – 11:30am
  • Lates - Mon-Thurs: 2pm – 10pm & Fridays: 11:30am – 5pm
