We are currently seeking a Quality Assurance Manager in Fareham who will sit within a multidisciplinary engineering team developing hardware, software, and firmware for innovative sensing products. As Quality Assurance Manager, you will take ownership of the company’s quality systems, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 while supporting the transition toward automotive standards including IATF 16949 (ISO/TS 16949), ISO 26262, Automotive SPICE, and AEC-Q100. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone with a background in Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, or NPI Engineering within electronics (PCB/PCBA, circuits, or related fields), who has progressed into quality management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the company’s Quality Assurance systems in collaboration with engineering teams
- Drive compliance with ISO 9001 and support implementation of automotive standards and frameworks
- Act as the primary QA interface with customers, supporting pre-sales, qualification, certification, production delivery, and failure analysis activities
- Identify, investigate, and resolve quality issues, non-conformities, and customer concerns
- Monitor quality performance through audits, management reviews, and customer feedback, ensuring corrective actions are completed
- Develop, maintain, and improve procedures, work instructions, and quality documentation
- Own and evolve the Business Management System (BMS)
- Plan, manage, and execute internal and external audit schedules
- Produce quality reports, metrics, and continuous improvement plans
Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering (Electronics, Physics, Computer Science, or similar) or equivalent experience
- Proven experience implementing and managing Quality Management Systems
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and internal audit accreditation
- Experience leading internal and external audits
- Ability to define and maintain quality standards, procedures, and specifications
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data collection, reporting, and statistical analysis
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
- Demonstrated track record of delivering projects to completion
- Experience with electronics manufacturing (PCB, PCBA, circuits)
- Familiarity with IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, or similar standards
- Understanding of automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, ISO 26262, Automotive SPICE)
- Knowledge of risk management methodologies (e.g. FMEA)
- Experience in product compliance and regulatory requirements
- Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies
