A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Trainee CAD Designer to join a growing organisation based in Totton, Southampton. This opportunity is ideal for someone with an electrical or engineering background who is looking to develop their CAD skills and build a long-term career within technical design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce accurate 2D technical drawings in line with company standards.
- Support the creation and maintenance of electrical panel designs, schematic drawings and technical documentation.
- Assist with drawing revisions, updates and version control processes.
- Develop an understanding of wiring diagrams, general arrangement drawings and engineering standards.
- Complete structured in-house training to build knowledge of products, processes and industry requirements.
- Work closely with the CAD Design Team to deliver accurate and high-quality design documentation.
Skills & Experience:
- Electrical or Electronic Engineering qualification such as T-Level, BTEC Level 3 or equivalent.
- Interest in developing a career within CAD design and electrical engineering.
- Basic understanding of electrical or mechanical principles would be beneficial.
- Experience using CAD software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks would be advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organisation skills.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team.
- A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
