The Engineering Manager is responsible for the leadership and development of embedded Software and FPGA engineering functions. The position combines technical authority with line management responsibility, ensuring high-quality delivery while supporting team growth and capability development.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, mentor, and inspire teams of embedded Software and FPGA engineers.
- Conduct performance reviews and support professional development.
- Allocate engineering resources to meet programme and business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with internal processes, governance, and HR policies.
- Provide technical direction across embedded software, FPGA, and digital design activities.
- Lead requirement decomposition, estimation, dependency management, and planning.
- Drive adoption of best practices, modern development tools, and advanced methodologies.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years’ experience in embedded Software or FPGA design and development.
- Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams.
- Strong ability to mentor and develop engineers.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- C and C++ development experience.
- FPGA design and verification using VHDL and/or Verilog.
- Experience with SoC platforms (e.g. Zynq UltraScale+).
- Knowledge of video protocols such as MIPI or SDI.
- Proactive, driven, and self-motivated.
- Decisive with a strong sense of ownership.
- Resilient and confident under pressure.
