A leading RF and microwave technology business is seeking a Senior RF / mmWave Design Engineer to join its growing engineering team in County Durham. This is a hands-on role working across the full product lifecycle, from concept through to production, supporting advanced telecommunications and defence applications.

The Role

You'll take ownership of RF & microwave design activities, delivering high-performance circuits and systems while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop RF/mmWave circuits, modules, and systems
  • Work across transmission lines, filters, couplers, and synthesiser/multiplier design
  • Perform simulation and modelling using tools such as ADS, CST, EMPro, or Microwave Office
  • Conduct system line-up, tolerance, and yield analysis
  • Support PCB layout and electromechanical integration
  • Lead verification, validation, and design documentation for production release
  • Troubleshoot and support product introduction and manufacturing

What We're Looking For

  • Degree in RF, Microwave, or Communications Engineering (or similar)
  • Strong experience in RF/microwave circuit and system design
  • Proven use of industry-standard RF design tools (ADS, CST, EMPro, etc.)
  • Experience with transceiver design and high-frequency PCB development
  • A hands-on mindset with strong problem-solving capability
