A leading UK engineering organisation is seeking a Contract NPI Manufacturing Engineer to support the introduction of complex electro-mechanical systems into manufacture for a major MOD programme. This is an immediate requirement supporting a critical deliverable moving into production. You will be expected to operate with minimal supervision whilst driving manufacturing readiness across New Product Introduction activities.
Prior defence experience is desirable; however, strong NPI experience is essential. The interview process will be one to two stages, with a quick turnaround for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead manufacturing activities linked to New Product Introduction.
- Work closely with design teams to transition products into production.
- Design fixtures and tooling to support assembly.
- Produce production documentation, including BOMs and work instructions.
- Implement manufacturing improvements and standard processes.
- Support testing activities and liaise with suppliers where required.
- Proven Manufacturing or Production Engineering background within complex engineering environments.
- Strong New Product Introduction (NPI) experience.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, DFM and industrialisation.
- Mechanical and/or electronic design awareness.
- Ability to work independently and resolve manufacturing challenges.
British citizens or those eligible to obtain Security Clearance (SC) only; this is a mandatory requirement.
