A leading engineering team in Wallingford, Oxfordshire is seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join a vibrant and innovative Design Office. This is an exciting job opportunity for an experienced engineer who thrives in a hands-on environment and enjoys contributing to the development of world-class products in the automotive and marine sectors. As a Mechanical Design Engineer in Wallingford, Oxfordshire you will work closely with a dynamic technical team, applying your strong mechanical design background and comprehensive understanding of modern manufacturing processes. You will play a key role in designing and developing new products on a project-driven basis while supporting ongoing production and assembly operations. The Mechanical Design Engineer job in Wallingford, Oxfordshire will be responsible for: * Designing, developing, and supporting mechanical products to meet exacting quality standards. * Assisting with new product development projects from concept to pre-production. * Providing technical support to production, sales, and supply chain teams. * Managing technical drawings, assembly documentation, and Bills of Materials (BOMs). * Liaising with suppliers and assisting in prototype build and on-water product testing. * Identifying and implementing product and production line improvements. Qualifications & Experience * Degree-level education or equivalent, with at least five years’ experience as a Design Engineer. * Advanced 3D CAD capability (preferably Siemens NX), including complex assemblies and technical drawings. * Proven ability to solve engineering challenges with innovative design solutions. * Experience in mechanical systems such as drivetrains and fabricated components (steel, aluminium, plastics). * Understanding of moulded components, tooling, and laminate schedules. * Familiarity with fluid or electrical systems advantageous. * Marine industry experience beneficial but not essential.
