We're supporting an innovative engineering and electronics business as they look to appoint an experienced HR Manager on a contract basis. The Opportunity

As the HR Manager, you'll be the trusted HR partner for the business, providing practical advice and guidance across the full employee lifecycle. Working closely with senior leadership, you'll help drive best practice, manage employee relations matters, and ensure robust HR policies and procedures are in place. This role would suit someone who enjoys being embedded within the business, building strong stakeholder relationships, and making a visible impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all HR-related matters
  • Partner with managers on employee relations cases, including performance management, absence management, disciplinary and grievance issues
  • Ensure compliance with UK employment legislation and HR best practice
  • Create, review and maintain HR documentation, including contracts, policies, handbooks and employee correspondence
  • Support onboarding, offboarding and wider employee lifecycle activities
  • Advise leadership teams on HR policies and procedures, ensuring consistency across the business
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records
  • Support the ongoing development of HR processes as the organisation continues to grow

About You

  • Proven experience as an HR Manager or Senior HR Generalist
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR compliance
  • Experience working within an engineering, manufacturing, technology or technical environment would be advantageous
  • Practical, commercially minded and comfortable operating autonomously
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • CIPD qualified (or equivalent experience)
