Octagon Group is working with a global engineering and manufacturing organisation seeking a Contract Senior FPGA Engineer to support cutting-edge product development at their site in Livingston. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly experienced Contract Senior FPGA Engineer to join a collaborative team delivering technology across aerospace, healthcare, industrial and advanced communications sectors.
The successful Contract Senior FPGA Engineer will play a key role across the full product lifecycle, from concept and architecture through to design, verification and manufacturing transition.
Key Responsibilities:- Architect and design advanced digital electronic circuitry
- Develop FPGA solutions using HDL languages, including VHDL and SystemVerilog/UVM
- Manage design entry, synthesis (Libero), timing analysis/closure and place & route using Vivado and/or Quartus
- Optimise FPGA designs for power, performance and area
- Create fully self-checking test benches with directed and constrained random test cases
- Support FPGA pinout optimisation and contribute to PCB layout activities
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including software, mechanical, quality and manufacturing engineers
- 5+ years’ industry experience in FPGA design
- Strong digital hardware architecture expertise
- Degree qualified in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience working within complex, highly regulated engineering environments is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills with a collaborative approach
