We're recruiting on behalf of a growing, AIM-listed technology business for a Fractional Finance Director / Fractional Financial Controller to provide senior financial control and external reporting support over an initial 6-12 month term. This is a genuinely flexible, part-time finance leadership role and ideal for an experienced FD, FC or portfolio finance professional who wants meaningful, senior-level work without a full-time commitment.
About the role
You’ll provide hands-on Financial Controller / Finance Director support to an AIM-listed business, covering financial control processes and statutory/regulatory reporting, including the company's six-monthly stock market reporting obligations.
Key responsibilities
- Guide the design, implementation and continuous improvement of financial control processes
- Support preparation and review of IFRS-compliant statutory accounts and liaise with external auditors
- Oversee reporting obligations arising from the company's AIM listing, including six-monthly stock market reporting (RNS announcements, investor and stakeholder reporting)
- Review and challenge existing financial controls and reporting outputs
- Provide senior FD/FC oversight and hands-on capacity during peak periods (half-year and year-end reporting, and the Christmas-April budgeting cycle)
- Act as a technical sounding board for the wider finance team
What we're looking for
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Essential: strong IFRS reporting experience and prior AIM-listed company reporting experience (main market listed experience not required)
- Significant prior experience at Financial Controller or Finance Director level
- Demonstrable track record of building and improving financial control frameworks
- Strong experience of statutory accounts, audit, and listed-company reporting obligations
- Comfortable working flexibly in a fractional/part-time capacity, with the ability to flex time upward during known busy periods
- Available to start within 2-3 weeks, ramping up gradually through the Christmas-April cycle
Type: Fractional/part-time, initial term of 6-12 months (scope to extend)
Location: Central Scotland (hybrid), with occasional on-site attendance
Day rate: Competitive, dependent on experience
