Are you a qualified accountant with a passion for driving business performance? Our client, a dynamic player in the construction sector, is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead their finance function and support strategic decision‑making. Why You’ll Love This Role * Leadership & Impact: Manage and develop a small finance team, championing best practices and continuous improvement. * Strategic Partner: Work closely with senior management to shape budgets, forecasts, and long‑term plans. * Variety & Challenge: From month‑end reporting to cash‑flow management and payroll oversight, no two days are the same. * Growth Opportunities: Join a growing business offering flexible working and scope to expand your skills and influence. Key Responsibilities * Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and ratio analysis. * Lead budgeting, forecasting and integrated financial modelling to support business planning. * Oversee cash flow forecasting, treasury dealings and management of receivables/payables. * Manage payroll processes: BACS, RTI submissions, pension updates and year‑end reporting (P60s, P11s, NIC payments). * Ensure all statutory obligations are met: VAT returns, UBTRS reports, tax payments. * Supervise fixed asset schedules, lease/HP loan accounting, accruals/prepayments and WIP/stock adjustments. * Support ad‑hoc projects: risk assessments, ONS surveys, insurance and fleet approvals, system backups. * Build strong collaborative relationships with external partners (accountants, banks, auditors). What You’ll Bring * Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent). * Strong technical accounting skills and intermediate‑level Excel proficiency. * Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities. * Proven leadership and team‑motivational experience. * Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly. * A proactive, analytical mindset and exceptional attention to detail. * Experience with Sage or Xero and familiarity with the construction industry (desirable).
