Our client is recruiting for a Field Applications Engineer (SDR) – Graduate Opportunity. They are a specialist in software-defined radio and advanced communications systems used across defence, security, and high-performance signal processing applications. This is an excellent opportunity for a Graduate Field Applications Engineer or early-career engineer with a background in electronics or computer science who is interested in SDR, RF systems, and digital communications.

Location: Fareham, Hampshire, UK

Salary: Up to £35,000

Must have: UK driving licence and British passport

The Role: As a Field Applications Engineer (SDR), you will act as the technical link between the company’s engineering team and its customers. You will help users integrate and understand SDR technology by building example software, troubleshooting systems, and demonstrating capabilities. This is a hybrid role combining software engineering, technical support, and customer-facing engineering, ideal for graduates who want to specialise in SDR and communications systems.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Writing and testing SDR applications using tools such as Python, C/C++, MATLAB, and GNU Radio
  • Supporting customers with system integration and debugging
  • Creating technical demos and example projects
  • Writing clear technical documentation and user guides
  • Working with internal engineers to improve products and features

About You: This role would suit a Graduate Field Applications Engineer with a degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
