We are hiring an Embedded Software Manager for our R&D function in Maidstone, Kent (Hybrid). This is a full-time, permanent position. Are you an experienced Embedded Software Manager ready to lead cutting-edge development in embedded systems, IoT, and cloud-connected technologies? We are looking for someone to take ownership of embedded software delivery across a range of safety-critical electronic products. From low-level embedded C through to connected web services, you will lead a cross-functional team through full-lifecycle development.
What will the Embedded Software Manager Do:
- Lead and mentor a team of 10–15 engineers across embedded, Linux, desktop, web, and cloud platforms.
- Guide architecture decisions for bare-metal and RTOS-based systems, as well as cloud-based applications.
- Manage project delivery with senior members of the business.
- Ensure the highest quality software.
- Champion modern development practices including CI/CD, automated testing, and secure coding.
- Collaborate with R&D, QA, and PMO teams at our Maidstone, Kent facility to innovate and deliver top-tier solutions.
Experience required from the Embedded Software Manager:
- Proven leadership in embedded software team, ideally in a regulated industry.
- Familiarity with ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers, RTOS, and communication protocols (SPI, I2C, TCP/IP).
- Some experience with C/C++, C#/.NET.
