Location: Livingston (hybrid flexibility depending on project requirements)

Contract Length: 8 weeks with possible extension, project dependent

Octagon Group is working with a global engineering and manufacturing organisation seeking a Contract Senior FPGA Engineer to support cutting-edge product development at their site in Livingston. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly experienced Contract Senior FPGA Engineer to join a collaborative team delivering technology across aerospace, healthcare, industrial and advanced communications sectors.

The successful Contract Senior FPGA Engineer will play a key role across the full product lifecycle, from concept and architecture through to design, verification and manufacturing transition.

Key Responsibilities – Contract Senior FPGA Engineer – Livingston
  • Architect and design advanced digital electronic circuitry
  • Develop FPGA solutions using HDL languages, including VHDL and SystemVerilog/UVM
  • Manage design entry, synthesis (Libero), timing analysis/closure and place & route using Vivado and/or Quartus
  • Optimise FPGA designs for power, performance and area
  • Create fully self-checking test benches with directed and constrained random test cases
  • Support FPGA pinout optimisation and contribute to PCB layout activities
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including software, mechanical, quality and manufacturing engineers
Required Experience
  • 5+ years’ industry experience in FPGA design
  • Strong digital hardware architecture expertise
  • Degree qualified in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience working within complex, highly regulated engineering environments is advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills with a collaborative approach
