Our client is seeking a talented and commercially aware Design Engineer within Power Electronics to join our growing engineering team. This role focuses on the design and development of switch mode power supplies (SMPS), including both modification of existing products and full custom, ground-up power supply solutions. You will take responsibility for delivering technically robust, cost-effective designs that meet customer requirements on time and right first time.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop AC-DC and DC-DC switch mode power supplies
- Select and implement appropriate topologies (Flyback, Forward, Half Bridge, resonant converters, etc.)
- Produce detailed design specifications from customer requirements
- Prototype and bench test circuits to validate performance
- Track and manage product cost throughout development
- Consider thermal performance and mechanical robustness within designs
Requirements:
- Bachelors in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or higher
- Proven experience designing switch mode power supplies
- Strong understanding of power electronics fundamentals and topology selection
