We’re working with a leading engineering company that creates advanced electronics for high-end automotive, motorsport, and cutting-edge technology applications. We are looking for an experienced SMT Team Lead based in Frimley to manage a small team of specialised assembly technicians producing complex, high-value electronic products in small to medium volumes. These products are used in high-end automotive and motorsport applications, where quality and reliability are critical.

Key Responsibilities of a SMT Team Lead:

  • Lead and manage a team of 3 assembly technicians, setting goals and mentoring staff.
  • Run and programme pick-and-place machines (current line: ASM SX) and oversee additional equipment including 3D AOI, selective soldering, X-ray, and conformal coating machines.
  • Plan and allocate resources, schedule production, and ensure multiple projects are delivered on time and to specification.
  • Provide technical guidance, including DFM, DFA, and DFT inputs, and contribute to process FMEA.
  • Maintain manufacturing documentation to achieve full traceability and compliance with quality standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to support a zero-defect culture.
