Our client are seeking a talented and commercially aware Power Electronics Development Engineer to join their growing engineering team.
We're recruiting on behalf of a leading electronics manufacturer that develops high performance switch mode power supplies for customers across a range of demanding industries.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative engineering team where you'll take ownership of challenging design projects and contribute to the development of cutting edge power conversion technology.
Working closely with cross functional teams, you will support projects from initial customer requirements through circuit design, prototyping, testing and product qualification.
Responsibilities as a Power Electronics Development Engineer in Barnstaple.
- Design and develop custom and modified switch mode power supplies to meet customer specifications.
- Select appropriate power conversion topologies and technologies for each application.
- Produce circuit designs, prototype hardware and carry out bench testing.
- Generate technical specifications where required.
- Review and approve design verification testing and technical documentation.
- Communicate technical progress with internal stakeholders and customers.
- Support PCB layout activities and provide technical guidance during development.
Requirements as a Power Electronics Development Engineer in Barnstaple.
- Experience designing SMPS products from concept through qualification.
- Knowledge of Flyback, Forward and Half Bridge converter topologies.
- Experience with analogue and power electronics circuit design.
- Knowledge of EMC principles and safety standards.
