Octagon Group is a growing Tech & Engineering recruitment business with offices in Ampthill, Bedfordshire with a collaborative team of 15 employees. We’re looking for an organised, proactive, and people-focused HR & Office Manager to support the day-to-day running of the business. This is a varied position combining HR, office management, onboarding, employee support, operations, and team coordination within a flexible and friendly environment.
The Role
You’ll play a key role in supporting both the people and operational side of the business, helping ensure the office runs smoothly while maintaining professional HR processes and employee support.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft contracts, offer letters, and employee documentation
- Update company handbooks, HR policies, and procedures
- Manage onboarding and off-boarding processes
- Handle employee queries and support HR-related matters
- Maintain HR systems and records (currently using Breathe HR)
- Support document and property management across the business
- Coordinate IT equipment, laptops, and employee setup
- Oversee office operations, suppliers, and internal administration
- Organise company socials, events, and team activities
- Support a positive, collaborative, and well-organised office culture
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience within HR, Office Management, or People Operations
- HR qualification or relevant HR certification preferred
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Comfortable managing confidential employee information
- Good IT skills and confidence using HR software and internal systems
- Positive, approachable, and proactive attitude
