About the Role

To support the traffic and logistics manager in coordinating all traffic, logistics, and parking operations for the NEC Campus, including resource management and daily operations.

The Traffic and Logistics Planner will line‑manage and develop the two traffic office coordinators, working closely with OCS colleagues, traffic supervisors, and reporting to the Campus Traffic and Logistics Manager.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitoring systems used by the traffic and logistics department including Voyage control, Traffic Database, Speed check database, Genetec, and Timegate.
  • Identify and collate training requirements and records for the department.
  • Collate financial documents in support of events traffic & carpark revenue.
  • Communicate with events staff on any necessary departmental information including event information and training.
  • Evaluate current processes and procedures and develop new strategies and ideas to work more effectively within the business.
  • Support the manager to ensure the casual workforce is managed effectively, including identifying recruitment, liaising with the scheduling department and HR.
  • Identify recruitment channels with the contract support team.
  • Manage and develop the traffic office coordinators.
  • Health and Safety
  • Communicate regularly with colleagues through formal and informal channels on safety matters to ensure a free flow of ideas and high morale.
  • Ensure that the OCS safety image is reflected positively through your actions and those of your colleagues.
  • Ensure personal H&S competence and skill level is maintained, e. g., attending Managing Safety programmes and other company safety events.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring that plant and equipment are maintained and fit for purpose.
  • Ensure that work activities are properly managed and supervised.

Education

  • Level 3 qualification or higher.
  • Professional Qualifications
  • IOSH.
  • Ne BOSH (Desirable).
  • CCTV Licence (preferable).

Experience

  • Experience of working in a traffic function.
  • Financial administration.
  • Experience in an event environment.
