About The Role
Shift Pattern: 5 in 7, including one weekend in 3. Shifts between 6am-2pm, 7am-3pm, 8am-4pm. Work depends on park needs and requirements. Cover late shifts when park is open and events ranging from 9am-5pm, 10am-6pm, 11am-7pm, 2pm-10pm and 3pm-11pm.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure that all work carried out is of high quality and meets the required legislative levels.
- Provide timely communication to the Technical Services Team Leader with regard to operational issues, ensuring the earliest possible resolution and appropriate support where required.
- Plan activity to ensure projects undertaken are delivered on time.
- Assist in aspects of building maintenance to ensure high standards of product availability, operational presentation and customer satisfaction.
- Anticipate and focus on the needs of customers as a priority (both internal and external) and act to ensure they are met.
- Operate mechanical plant including, but not limited to, diggers, cherry pickers, Genie lifts, chainsaws and petrol saws.
- Ensure required documentation is completed in line with company guidelines (e.g. job sheet sign off).
- Maximise ride capacity and throughput, continually striving to exceed targets in line with customer expectations.
- Pro‑actively support other areas of the Technical Services department.
- Identify opportunities to reduce future maintenance costs through choice of working methods or materials/equipment.
- Ensure all resources are used efficiently to minimise costs.
- Perform risk assessments for all activities.
- Communicate with other team members, guests and other areas of the business with a positive style.
- Attend team briefings actively contributing to any discussions.
Person Specification
- Experience within a relevant building/groundwork environment such as paving, tarmacing, fencing, bricklaying and drainage works.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures specific to the industry preferable.
- City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 within the building trade is essential.
- Appropriate plant machinery licences (e.g. Genie, cherry picker, digger) desirable.
- Ability to work using own initiative displaying decision‑making skills without direct supervision.
- Excellent communication skills.
Please note
This role will involve working mainly outdoors in all weather conditions throughout the year and may involve working at heights.
