About The Role
Working 7am until 7pm on a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern. This role will also be expected to work night shifts, to cover annual leave and other periods of absence from the night team. As a Senior Cleaning Supervisor, you will report to the Contract Manager and ensure that the Cleaning, Back Of House & Car Park Teams are managed within the contractual obligations and are performing to the required levels of quality and service at all times. This position is based at Drake Circus Shopping Centre.
Responsibilities
- Be the client’s and team’s main point of contact on site
- Coordinate and drive the delivery of the cleaning, back of house and car park teams on site
- Support the manager with the training and induction of new staff, and the completion of training records
- Lead by example when completing tasks, following the safe systems of work and method statements
- Ensure all housekeeping tasks are performed to a high standard
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain quality control
- Manage cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring they are used efficiently and maintained in good condition
- Address any operational issues or challenges that arise, finding effective solutions to maintain smooth operations
Qualifications
- You must have the right to work in the UK
- Experience operating within a similar Housekeeping or Cleaning role, at a team leader/senior/supervisor level or above
- Extensive high level cleaning experience within a similar environment (shopping centre, factory, or industrial experience would be preferred)
- Understanding of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) and Health & Safety compliance
- Ability to work night shifts when required, to support with annual leave and absence cover
- In-depth knowledge and experience working with cleaning equipment and machinery within a similar environment
- Experience in training, supervising and inducting colleagues
- Ability to deputise for the Cleaning Manager in their absence
- Strong communication skills, essential for client liaison and effective team coordination
- Proactive and adaptable, able to respond to changing demands and priorities
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic and commitment to maintaining high standards
