This is a mobile position working Monday to Friday with variable shifts due to the business operational demands. You will be working a minimum of 40 hours per week across different shifts within a number of courts in a dedicated area around the home-base of this advertised location. There is no weekend or night work, but overtime on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays may be offered. Weekends are paid at 1.5x for Saturdays and 2x for Sundays, with a rate of 1.5x for weekday overtime outside normal court operating times. Benefits include a minimum 40 hours contracted per week and an Attendance Allowance of £1 per hour (subject to attendance criteria). Travel expenses and parking are reimbursed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service, welcoming and guiding court users.
  • Monitor premises and visitors via CCTV and x-ray machines, and conduct security checks such as hand-held metal detectors and bag searches on arrival.
  • Patrol and secure access to buildings and satellite buildings, maintaining contact with the control room using hand-held radios.
  • Respond to panic alarm buttons in Judges' rooms, courts and offices.
  • Respond to security issues within the complex and record/report incident details.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Must have Right to Work in the UK.
  • An enhanced DBS and BS7858 security clearance will be completed for the successful candidate.
  • SIA Licence and relevant security-related experience.
  • You may require a UK driving licence (location dependent).
  • Strong people and customer service skills.
  • Good diligence and high standard of work.
  • Effective communication skills.
