About The Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Fire Door Compliance
    • Carry out routine fire door inspections in line with relevant standards.
    • Complete repairs, adjustments, and replacements to maintain fire integrity and compliance.
  • Reactive Joinery Repairs
    • Make good damage to doors, frames, worktops, wall protection, fixtures, and fittings.
    • Repair or replace ironmongery, hinges, locks etc.
    • Respond to day‑to‑day repair requests within healthcare and school environments.
    • Maintain stock levels
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
    • Complete scheduled PPM tasks relating to joinery and general building fabric.
    • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure tasks are completed to required standards.
  • General Building Fabric Works
    • Undertake minor refurbishment, carpentry installations, and small works projects.
    • Ensure work areas are safe, tidy, and compliant with health and safety procedures.
  • On‑Call & Overtime
    • Participate in an out‑of‑hours on‑call rota to support emergency maintenance requirements.
    • Work additional hours when required to support operational needs or project deadlines.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Joiner within a maintenance or facilities environment.
  • Knowledge of fire door regulations, building safety requirements, and general building fabric maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently across multiple sites with a professional, customer‑focused approach.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to respond quickly to urgent tasks.
