About The Role
Key Responsibilities
- Fire Door Compliance
- Carry out routine fire door inspections in line with relevant standards.
- Complete repairs, adjustments, and replacements to maintain fire integrity and compliance.
- Reactive Joinery Repairs
- Make good damage to doors, frames, worktops, wall protection, fixtures, and fittings.
- Repair or replace ironmongery, hinges, locks etc.
- Respond to day‑to‑day repair requests within healthcare and school environments.
- Maintain stock levels
- Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
- Complete scheduled PPM tasks relating to joinery and general building fabric.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure tasks are completed to required standards.
- General Building Fabric Works
- Undertake minor refurbishment, carpentry installations, and small works projects.
- Ensure work areas are safe, tidy, and compliant with health and safety procedures.
- On‑Call & Overtime
- Participate in an out‑of‑hours on‑call rota to support emergency maintenance requirements.
- Work additional hours when required to support operational needs or project deadlines.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Joiner within a maintenance or facilities environment.
- Knowledge of fire door regulations, building safety requirements, and general building fabric maintenance.
- Ability to work independently across multiple sites with a professional, customer‑focused approach.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to respond quickly to urgent tasks.
