Shift Pattern: 5 in 7

Job Summary: Carry out all aspects of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance within the hotel to the highest possible quality levels, ensuring the agreed standards are met.

  • Ensure consistent delivery of high quality maintenance.
  • Work to maintenance plans to ensure high standards of product availability, operational presentation and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide support and information to all maintenance teams and other departments.
  • Consider other departments requirements and provide guidance and support as appropriate.
  • Ensure the maintenance team works within all relevant legislation, guidelines and code of practice and that all procedures are adhered to.
  • Complete worksheets detailing exact nature of work carried out.
  • Carry out fault diagnosis on all equipment as necessary.
  • Ensure all contractors comply with relevant legislation, codes of practice and company procedures.

Marketing: Develop and maintain an appropriate knowledge of business operation and activities.

Financial: Provide information on projected costs to enable budgets to be constructed. Maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure best service. Identify methods of working differently to maximise resources on site and assist in providing long‑term solutions for replacement of obsolete equipment.

Development: Actively support new approaches and innovative solutions for maintenance issues. Provide specialist knowledge to managers, maintenance teams and other departments. Provide specialist knowledge in areas of training for multi‑skilled apprentices.

People: Ensure engineering apprentices gain a good understanding of the business. Promote a culture encouraging input and initiatives by completing appraisals and objectives. Develop effective paths of two‑way communication to improve service and delivery. Lead by example, promoting the company standards and values. Ensure appraisals are done on a timely basis. Consider own training needs and keep current with modern technology and safety standards. Ensure the team has a clear understanding of their roles and the importance of responding positively to business change. Proactively seek to update personal skills and knowledge. Demonstrate commitment to company standards, values and promote effective working relationships with internal and external customers. Be approachable while developing a professional team environment. Build effective working relationships at all levels.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Craft qualification such as a recognised electrical apprenticeship or equivalent to City & Guilds 2350 NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation Engineering + AM2.
  • Current wiring regulations qualification such as or equal to City & Guilds 2381‑18 Level 3 Award (18th Edition).
  • Valid and up‑to‑date Grade card/CSCS Card or equivalent qualification.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Inspection & Testing qualification such as or equal to City & Guilds 2391‑52 Level 3 Award in Initial and Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations.
