  • Senior Soft Services Manager

We are seeking an experienced, proactive and highly motivated Senior Soft Services Manager to lead the delivery of high-quality facilities management services across a diverse public sector portfolio supporting the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service (SCTS) and Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS).

This is a senior leadership role requiring a dynamic individual who can operate effectively within a fast-paced and demanding environment, ensuring operational excellence, contractual compliance and exceptional client service across multiple locations throughout Scotland.

The successful candidate will act as a key representative of the company, building strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, service partners and operational teams while driving continuous improvement and service performance.

  • As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Oversee the delivery of all contracted soft services, ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with contractual obligations, statutory requirements and company standards.
  • Provide leadership and operational direction to site-based teams and service partners across a geographically dispersed portfolio.
  • Actively manage contractors and suppliers to ensure service delivery standards are consistently achieved as part of an integrated facilities management solution.
  • Identify, assess and mitigate operational and contractual risks through a proactive, risk-based management approach.
  • Monitor compliance against contractual performance measures, service levels and key performance indicators, implementing corrective actions where required.
  • Identify areas of non-compliance or elevated risk and develop robust action plans to achieve timely resolution.
  • Lead service reviews, audits and performance meetings, ensuring continual improvement initiatives are implemented and monitored.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with SCTS, COPFS and other key stakeholders, acting as a trusted partner and escalation point for operational matters.
  • Represent the company at client meetings, governance forums and operational reviews, providing professional leadership and effective communication at all levels.
  • Provide cover and support for the Account Manager during periods of absence, ensuring continuity of service delivery, client engagement and operational performance.
  • Support financial performance through effective budget management, cost control and operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Respond effectively to emerging operational challenges, demonstrating sound judgement, resilience and the ability to make informed decisions within a fast-moving environment.
  • Be prepared to travel extensively across Scotland, including remote and rural locations, sometimes at short notice, to support operational requirements and client needs.

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria

  • Must have the Right to Work in the UK.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body such as IWFM or BICSc is desirable.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale Soft Services operations within a public sector, corporate or critical environment.
  • Demonstrable experience of contract management, supplier management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience of P&L accountability, budget management and commercial awareness.
  • Strong understanding of compliance, governance, health & safety and risk management principles.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, think quickly and make effective decisions in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Highly organised with strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Advanced IT skills with a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout Scotland as required.
