About the Role

Days of Working: Monday - Friday 4pm - 8pm

As a General Catering Assistant at one of our NHS healthcare provider sites, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and timely preparation, delivery, and quality service of all food and beverages to patients, clients, and guests. Responsibilities

  • Ensure that Patient and clients receive a prompt and courteous service at all times.
  • Maintain Contract health and safety, and hygiene standards and appropriate documentation following current legislation and company standards.
  • Preparation of sandwiches, salads and beverages as required.
  • Receive, check, sort and store Supplier products as directed.
  • Prepare Food service area to the standard laid out by the management.
  • Washing up, general tidying, removal of waste and used crockery/cutlery to be expected along with keeping the work area and kitchen to the highest cleanliness standards.

Qualifications

  • Must have Right to Work in the UK
  • An enhanced DBS will be completed for the successful candidate.
  • Catering experience required, food safety level 2, allergy management knowledge
  • Food Hygiene Certificate and Health & Safety Training qualification – (desirable as training can be provided).
  • Practical food handling experience, preferably from within a Healthcare background.
  • Willing and able to work shifts (including nights, week days, weekends, Bank Holidays) on any of the Trust Sites.
  • Understanding of HACCP & COSHH.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
