Role Overview
The Security Receptionist is responsible for delivering a professional front‑of‑house service while maintaining safety and security of the premises. The role combines customer service, access control and security monitoring to ensure all visitors, staff and contractors are managed in line with site procedures.
Location: Welcome Genome Campus, Hinxton Hall.
Hours: Thursday and Friday 07.00 – 15.00 & 07.30 – 15.30.
Key Responsibilities
- Front of House & Customer Service
- Provide a professional and welcoming reception service to all visitors and staff.
- Act as the first point of contact for enquiries (in person, phone, and email).
- Maintain a high standard of customer care at all times.
- Issue visitor badges and ensure sign‑in procedures are followed.
- Notify hosts promptly of visitor arrivals.
- Security & Access Control
- Monitor and control access to the building in accordance with site procedures.
- Verify identification and authorisation of visitors and contractors.
- Operate access control security systems.
- Challenge unauthorised persons in a professional manner.
- Maintain and distribute security keys and passes.
- Administrative Duties
- Maintain reception records and documentation.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail or deliveries (if required).
- Update visitor management systems.
- Produce reports as requested by management.
- Manage incoming/outgoing calls and emails.
Skills and Experience
