About The Role

Shift Pattern: Varied rota across 7 days – depending on events, including evenings and weekends. This role reports to the Senior Security Manager – Arenas and will plan and deliver events at the BP Pulse live arena and the Utilita Arena Birmingham (UAB), coordinating all security related matters on events. The role works closely with the wider NEC security teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the security event management function for allocated events, from planning to delivery and post‑event reporting.
  • Complete security event management administration on time and to the correct standard, including forecasts, costings, dot plans, security risk assessments, and invoicing.
  • Manage the relationship with the NEC event management team.
  • Build relationships with external partners including, but not limited to, the NEC Group, local authority, campus tenants and emergency services.
  • Constantly review processes for efficiencies and smarter working.
  • Liaise with the client, trade association and other forums to ensure best practice and effective service delivery.
  • Support with the management of the casual workforce, including identifying recruitment, liaising with the scheduling department and HR.
  • Provide management direction for the frontline Arena teams – standards, culture and performance.
  • Communicate regularly with colleagues through formal and informal channels on safety matters to ensure that there is a free flow of ideas and that morale remains high.
  • Ensure that personal H&S competence and skill level is maintained, e.g., attending the Managing Safety programme and other company safety events.
  • Management experience in major event security operations.
  • Proven experience in the development and implementation of major event planning.
  • Proven experience of leading large‑scale workforces.
  • Major event experience.

You Should Meet The Following Criteria

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • SIA Door Supervisor.
  • SIA CCTV License.
  • Level 3 Spectator Safety.
  • Level 4 Spectator Safety (Desirable).
  • First Aid at Work.
  • IOSH and NeBOSH (Desirable).
  • Project Management.
  • Experience in the events or conference sector.
  • Two years' experience in security management.
  • Diploma or certificate in Security Management or equivalent (Desirable).
  • Flexible working – the arenas are event‑driven. Evening and weekend working will be required.
