A well-established RC Frame and Groundworks subcontractor is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, supporting two major projects in Somerset. The role requires site presence a minimum of 2 days per week, with the remainder office-based or flexible.
The projects include:
- 1 x large project (£60m+), working as part of a bigger team
- 1 x £5m package, where you will take the role of commercial lead
The Role
- Preparing and reviewing valuations, interim payments, and final accounts
- Managing subcontractor agreements, procurement, and variation orders
- Supporting site teams with budget control, cost tracking, and commercial advice
- Assisting with cost planning, forecasting, and reporting across live projects
- Maintaining accurate commercial records and project documentation
- Acting as commercial lead on the £5m package, liaising directly with site teams, project managers, and clients
The Ideal Candidate
- Have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in Groundworks/RC Frame projects with a reputable subcontractor
- Be confident preparing valuations, managing variations, and providing commercial input
- Be happy to spend at least 2 days per week on site in Somerset
- Be commercially aware, proactive, and capable of leading smaller packages independently
- Be able to integrate with larger teams on high-value projects (£60m+)
