Our client is nationally recognised and respected as one of the leading contractors in the industry. Specialities include the demolition of city centre commercial buildings, high rise residential structures and groundworks packages. They work on projects to the value of £60m and have a current turnover of £150m.

Role Overview

As a Project Planner, you will play a key role in the planning and delivery of projects, ensuring effective programming, progress monitoring, and coordination across multiple work streams. This role requires a strong understanding of civils and structural works with at least 3+ years’ experience in a planning role within the industry.

  • Develop, maintain, and update project programmes using industry-standard planning software (e.g., Asta Powerproject, Primavera P6, or MS Project).
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams to ensure accurate planning and resource allocation.
  • Monitor progress against baseline programmes and produce regular progress reports.
  • Identify potential delays or risks and recommend mitigation measures.
  • Contribute to tender and pre-construction planning, including preparation of methodologies and logistics plans.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, contract requirements, and company standards.
  • Support senior management with programme analysis and forecasting.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Project Planner within the construction sector.
  • Strong background in demolition, RC frame, or groundworks (experience with subcontractor delivery advantageous).
  • Proficiency with planning software such as Asta Powerproject, Primavera P6, or MS Project.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills with the ability to liaise across teams.
  • Commercial awareness and good knowledge of contract planning obligations.
