I'm currently working with a well‑established subcontractor with a strong track record in RC frame and groundworks packages, delivering high‑quality projects across the education, commercial, and residential sectors. They are now looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to take full responsibility for the delivery of a school project in Portsmouth, overseeing the works from mobilisation through to completion. This is a key operational role, offering autonomy, direct responsibility for site delivery, and the chance to work closely with senior leadership.
The Role
- Take full ownership of the day‑to‑day delivery of the school project
- Manage site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, and to specification
- Lead progress meetings, client liaison, and reporting
- Oversee quality control, health & safety, and site logistics
- Work closely with the commercial team to manage costs, variations, and reporting
- Ensure smooth communication between site teams, consultants, and directors

- Have proven experience as a Project Manager within a subcontracting environment, ideally in RC frame or groundworks
- Be confident managing projects on a live or occupied school site
